Milo.com Raises $4M For Online>Offline Shopping

We lunched with a hacker recently at Palo Alto-based Milo. Our takeaway was that the project sounds like it could have broad appeal. Monetization, however, will take some patience. The startup helps shoppers to find products, pricing and deals at local stores so that they can drive there to pickup, rather than order through the mail. We know we have wanted to do this any number of times - often because we have to get a product this weekend and cannot or don't want to wait for shipment. Monetization will be tough because the process of paying online affiliates is mature, however, it does not extend to in-store buying. Full story...
