Moo Bella Raises $18M For Ice Cream Scoop Vending Machines
alarmClock Sep 21 09MooBella out of Taunton has raised $18M in Series A funding from a unit of the Swiss firm Inventages. The funding will go towards rollout of 100 commercial machines. The vending machines' multi-patented technology allows consumers to serve their own fresh, hard-scoop ice cream in 40 seconds flat. If they can price the ice-cream well below 31 flavors, etc. we will be bullish. We notice that we pay as much for a single scoop of ice-cream at a store as we do for a while half-gallon at Costco. We have to think however, that MooBella got the timing wrong launching at Summer's end.
