alarmClock Jun 15 10 Electric-car maker Tesla Motors has set its IPO date on June 29, when it is looking to raise as much as $178M. The Palo Alto-based company plans to sell 11.1M shares between $14 - $16 per share and plans to list on the Nasdaq under the symbol "TSLA." In its prospectus, Tesla said it lost $25.5M in the first quarter of 2010, vs. a quarterly loss of $16M a year earlier. In 2009, it lost $55.7M. Tesla has raised a war chest of cash but the IPO is key for to replenish it as well as to raise public awareness for the brand.
