Former Technology Crossover Ventures' man Greg Stanger is on the board and Karen Riley of the Angels Forum says she has invested as well. DeepDyve is developing search engine software focused on in-depth subjects like medicine and life sciences. The site is live so you can take a gander. Certainly the results on a search like "Swine Flu" are very different from what you find on Google. They have launched an API and widgets to allow publishers to integrate DeepDyve into their sites.
