Sprint Customers Head for the Exits

Reuters is reporting that Sprint Nextel Corp, the No. 3 U.S. mobile service, on Friday posted a third-quarter loss and a 12 percent drop in revenue—not to mention even worse subscriber numbers than before.

"Sprint said it lost 1.1 million customers who pay monthly bills, known as postpaid subscribers," the article said. "The average expectation was for a loss of 1.0 million postpaid users, according to five analysts surveyed by Reuters. Their estimates ranged from losses of 950,000 to 1.1 million."

These losses are despite the fact that Sprint made some recent gains in its customer service ratings after years of being at the bottom of the barrel in survey after survey. Full story...
