The RHIC/ATLAS Computing Facility (RACF) operates a large-scale multi-purpose computing facility 24x7, serving a geographically diverse, worldwide scientific community that participates in various projects in which BNL is involved. The major components of the RACF are the 6300-processor Linux Farm, the 3 PB disk storage system, the 7 PB robotic tape storage facility, and the high-availability general computing infrastructure. Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:
• 1 to 2 years experience in application development/support position
• At least 1 year programming experience with one of the following: Java, Python, C#, or PHP
• At least 1 year experience working with databases and SQL: Oracle, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems, and shell scripting
• Good knowledge of SOAP and HTTP protocols

• Must be fluent in English, additional languages spoken a plus
